Hour of Code resources:
  • Hour of Code Introduction Video: Watch this video to learn more about Hour of Code and get pumped!
  • Code.org: Free resource for students, teachers and parents to try out coding activities. All ages and grades available!
Beginner Activities:
  • Minecraft Coding: Use blocks of coding to take Steve or Alex on an adventure through this Minecraft world
  • Angry Birds: Code with the Angry Birds and help them attack their enemies using block coding.
  • The Foos: A great website for younger kids to get introduced to coding!
  • Tynker: Kid-friendly website for coding activities and games, offers activities that are different time limits (20 mins. to an hour)
Medium Level Activities (some experience):
  • Code with Anna and Elsa: Use code to help Anna and Elsa as they explore the magic and beauty of ice.
  • Star Wars: Choose to write code with either the blocks (easier) or by blocks and JavaScript (more challenging) to explore a galaxy far, far away.
  • Lightbot: Use the Lightbot robot to practice coding puzzles
  • Made With Code: Google's coding activities that are specifically geared towards girls (but fun for anyone!)
Advanced:
  • Scratch: Create stories, games and animations to share with others
  • Khan Academy: If you've used Khan Academy before, they now offer Hour of Code activities too! Easy to sign up and register.
  • Codecademy: Advanced levels of coding for experienced users or upper grades, write code in JavaScript
  • Code Combat: Use what you've learned about code to battle your enemies. You don't need an account to play but you won't be able to save your work without one.​
